Most of the island residents live on Grand Cayman. Cayman Brac has less than 1,800 residents, and the smallest of the chain Little Cayman has less than 50 residents.
Grand Cayman offers gourmet food from the U.S., and you can also find good local food in the capital city of George Town. And there are plenty of fast food burger places, along with lots of pizza. The other two smaller islands have few accommodations and restaurants.
Most of the residents are a mixture of African and European, and you will readily notice a lot of Caymans have reddish hair. The locals are very laid back, but prudish about nude bathing, wandering around in bathing suits without cover ups, and also gay travelers.
Watersports are king here, and with the deepest water in the Caribbean, the Caymans are rated among the best with diving enthusiasts around the world - especially the North Cayman Wall is quite famous. Their are very strict laws for protecting the reefs and fish.
The Caymans do not experience much rainfall, nor do they have the lush greenery compared to many other Caribbean islands. Rather these islands are covered in scrub forests with mangrove swamps.
